Prayagraj: Woman Allegedly Pressured for Divorce in Bhadohi Gyanpur, Family Accused of Harassment

Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh – A disturbing case of domestic harassment has emerged from Chakdodhar village in Bhadohi Gyanpur, Prayagraj, where a woman has accused her husband and in-laws of pressuring her into a forced divorce. She claims she is being mentally harassed and manipulated into agreeing to the separation.

Allegations of Psychological Pressure

According to reports, the woman’s husband is the son of a family with strong financial and professional ties—his uncle is a steel businessman in Dubai, and another relative works in the Income Tax Office. The woman alleges that her husband is attempting to control her mentally and is using family influence to coerce her into a divorce.

She further claims that not only her husband but also her father-in-law and other relatives are involved in this scheme. Allegedly, they are using their social and professional connections to isolate and intimidate her into submission.

Struggle for Justice

Refusing to bow to pressure, the woman has decided to take legal action and fight for justice. She has approached the authorities and is preparing for legal proceedings, but she fears that justice may be a long and difficult battle.

The Rising Concern of Domestic Coercion

This case highlights the growing issue of domestic coercion and psychological abuse within marriages. Many women in India face similar struggles, where family and societal pressures make it difficult for them to stand up against injustice.

Laws like the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 exist to safeguard women’s rights, but enforcing them effectively remains a challenge. Many victims of such coercion hesitate to report abuse due to fear of backlash or lack of support.
